Kurofune Hotel

It was fancy, staff were nice, there was a lot of activities inside the hotel as well as the Black Ship, restaurant, and walking area outside of the hotel.

Nice big room overlooking the Harbour.

A wonderful place to stay. Great location and clean and comfortable room. We loved the open air bath and the beautiful view from the room.

This is an older "resort hotel" with multiple buildings/ wings which retains its interest for the rooms and eating options. Situated 1 km from the station, facing the bay, outside of the Shimoda old town. Beautiful view from the rooms facing the bay, nice big room. Helpful and welcoming staff at reception. Set meal dinner and breakfast were delicious and well worth trying for one day, though the alcohol prices were high -- but there are also many other options in town, so please explore. Some options are 150 meters away in the fishing port with fresh seafood, all worth a try.

Lots of amenities, great room setups, individual onsens, tatami rooms, and unique baths really make it a unique place to vacation for a couple days. The staff is very accommodating and friendly, some can speak English too.
